About

tim-profileThis blog was originally started as my travel blog for Tokyo, Japan. I wanted to use it to post my thoughts and comments on spending time in Japan, and also play host to some photos and videos for my friends and family to see.

Since returning from Japan I’ve decided to keep it going rather than start a new one. I’m rather surprised that I enjoy it so much!

I am a 27 year old living in Seattle, WA. I recently graduated with a degree in International Studies and Asian Studies. Right now I am attending graduate school at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. The M.A. program is for International Human Rights Law with a Graduate Diploma in Conflict and Forced Migration Studies.

I have had the opportunity to work in a number of positions before trying to finish my degree including Contractor at Microsoft, Bookseller, Used Book Buyer, Intern to a U.S. Senator, and most recently with the International Rescue Committee.

I am an avid reader and book collector, a coffee aficionado, I love dry martini’s, the smell of wood smoke and old books, rainy, foggy days, and a scotch that’s old enough to order its own scotch.

Recent loves: Seattle Sounders, holla! New running shoes, and the wine list at Cafe Presse.

The blog name is a reference to a chapter, Chiba City Blues, from the book Neuromancer by William Gibson.
